With special focus in Assistive, Rehabilitative & Therapeutic (ART) Technology applications and solution, START Centre ranges of service includes evaluation, custom design and installation of AT tools to assist people with disabilities achieve their independence, education and vocational living goals.

START Centre plays the multiplier role in promoting, developing, and supporting the Asian Assistive, Rehabilitative & Therapeutic (ART*) technology and application. As an ongoing effort, START Centre always encourages industry representatives from both the VWOs, institute of higher learning, enterprises and member of the public who have a special interest in these areas to collaborate and develop new and innovative solutions for the aging and disabled communities.
Besides these, START Centre also conducts ongoing workshops and training programs to better equip caregivers and their charges on products and equipment available. START Centre is also the co-organiser for the international Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (i-CREATe). This annual event is an informative and interactive platform for leaders from various fields of AT practice, service delivery, research & development funding agencies and public policy makers, AT/RE researchers, therapist and medical personnel to gather for a 3-days conference, workshops and exhibitions. This meeting of the minds is where international representations from countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, USA, and European Union meets and collaboration are forged among organisations and across countries.
START Centre also carries a good range of AT equipment from renown brands like AbleNet Inc (USA), Alber (Germany), AMDi (USA), Attainment Company (USA), Bischoff & Bischoff (Germany), Enabling Devices (USA), Otto Bock (Germany), Prentke Romich Company (UK) and Tobii Technology (Sweden) just to name a few.
